Nature of Service
KAISEI / Ship Project operates an information and matching platform that connects sellers of pre-owned vessels in Japan with overseas buyers. We facilitate introductions, document coordination, and negotiation support. We are not the seller of record for listed vessels unless explicitly stated in writing for a specific transaction.
Pricing and Payment
Listed vessel prices are indicative and subject to confirmation with the seller, inspection results, currency exchange rates, and applicable taxes or duties. All prices are displayed in the currency stated on each listing unless otherwise noted.
Online payments processed through Stripe are collected as a Service Retainer (negotiation and export support coordination) to secure your place in active negotiations. The standard amount is USD 1,000, unless a different amount is displayed at checkout. This is not the vessel purchase price.
Accepted payment methods: Major credit and debit cards supported by Stripe. Payment is due at the time of checkout.
Additional fees: International shipping, customs clearance, import/export duties, registration, insurance, surveyor fees, and local taxes are not included in the deposit and are the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise agreed in a separate written contract.
Delivery and Transfer
Vessel delivery, export documentation, and title transfer timelines vary by listing, seller location, and destination country. Estimated schedules are provided during concierge coordination and are not guaranteed. Risk of loss for the vessel passes in accordance with the terms agreed between buyer and seller in the final purchase agreement.
Cancellation and Refunds
Deposits are generally non-refundable once payment is confirmed, as they compensate for negotiation exclusivity and concierge resources allocated to your inquiry. Limited exceptions may apply — for example, if the seller is unable to provide the vessel or materially misrepresented its availability. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Disclaimer
All vessels are offered on an as-is, where-is basis. KAISEI / Ship Project does not warrant the condition, seaworthiness, legal title, or fitness for a particular purpose of any vessel. We do not assume responsibility for international shipping arrangements, customs processing, or import/export duties. Buyers are encouraged to conduct independent surveys and legal due diligence before completing a purchase.
